William Doherty, Ph.D., an active UU and director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at the University of Minnesota, has written a challenging and helpful book for UUs and everyone else: Putting Family First: Successful Strategies for Reclaiming Family Life in a Hurry-Up World.
Among the chapters are "Reclaiming Family Meals," "Reclaiming Bedtime," Reclaiming Time to Just Hang Out," "Reclaiming Family Outings and Vacations," "Taming the Technology Beast," "Making Time for a Marriage," and "Changing Our Communities." The class will look at these topics, and others that participants might suggest, share our experiences, and strategize about building quality family life.
Books will be available for purchase at the first class, but no reading is required to participate in the class.
