Coming of Age
This program is offered every other year, alternating with Our Whole Lives. This program is designed for 7th and 8th graders.
Coming of Age is the Unitarian Universalist equivalent of a vision quest, or a bar or bat mitzvah, or a confirmation. We mark this transition from child to young adult with a year-long program that includes discussions and retreats that emphasize self-awareness and confidence-building; service to the church and community; and a culminating affirmation ceremony where the participants share the personal credos they have developed with the congregation.
