Fellowship Committee
The Fellowship committee oversees many types of social activities, including dinners, wine tastings, hikes, retreats and more. The committee organizes some events directly, but also provides assistance for anyone wishing to lead an activity for the church.
Some of our current programs are:
- Wednesday Night dinners. Enjoy delicious foods prepared by our own Ken Fagan and caterer Natalie Haffner. Dinner served at 6 p.m. in the Social Area.
- Dinners for Nine. Groups of nine or more meet monthly for dinner at members’ homes. This is a great way to get acquainted with new friends and enjoy tasty meals. Signups to join a group begin in August, with groups beginning in September. We also welcome new members to join throughout the year.
- Fall Retreat. This weekend gathering at Bethany Hills Camp in Kingston Springs is our favorite way to spend time with each other enjoying a wide variety of activities. The Saturday night talent show is a crowd favorite, and don’t forget those S’mores at the campfire!
- Mens Group. Meets twice monthly on Sunday night.
- Women’s Group. Meets monthly, alternating between a 2nd Friday potluck dinner at a member’s house and a 2nd Sunday lunch at a local restaurant. Email women@firstuunashville.org
- Thanksgiving Potluck. The church provides turkey and beverages, and attendees are asked to bring their favorite holiday dishes to share.
- Picnics. Once or twice a year, we gather together for a picnic, either at the church or a local park such as Percy Warner.
- Valentine’s Dance. For this Saturday night event in mid-February, we decorate the social area, play some lovely dance music and have a great time. (BYOB)
Fellowship committee meets on the 2nd Sunday at 12:15 p.m. We welcome you to join the committee, or let us know what you are interested in – arts, music, sports, movies – and we will assist you in getting the word out to our FUUN community.

- Join the Movie Group on Sunday, May 27
The Movie Group will discuss "Footnote" on May 27 after the second service in the Fireside Room. All are welcome. - Wines of Summer Tasting Friday, June 29, 7-9 p.m.
Our favorite wine tasting hosts, Dick and Gail Sphar, will be back again to share their favorite summer wines, along with some tasty food pairings. Tickets are $15 and will be sold after services on Sundays, June 17 and 24.
